Whew – what a day! We got an early start this morning because we had one of the very first reservations of the day to dine at Cinderella’s castle! Katie-Bug and Violet-Bug both wore their princess dresses and got to meet not only Cinderella, but Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine and Ariel as well. The food was good, too – spinach/goat cheese quiche for me, lobster and crab crêpes for Mama, French toast and eggs for the little princesses.
After breakfast we picked up fast passes for the Winnie the Pooh ride and headed for the new Beauty and the Beast attraction. I didn’t know what to expect, but it ended up being ‘How the heck do they DO that?’ incredible! In the interactive story session, Katie got to be Mrs. Potts and Violet was Chip. They both got to meet Belle! And I got to watch most of it, but I was fascinated with Lumiere and basically spent the whole show trying to figure out how they made his face move so realistically.
We followed that up with the Winnie the Pooh ride (fun as a Fast Pass attraction, but I’m not sure it’d be worth it to stand through the standby line), a spin on the iconic Dumbo ride, two trips (at Violet’s request) on the Barnstormer roller coaster (Violet-Bug’s first coaster!) and then a short ride on the train back around to the gate to ride the bus back to the resort for lunch and naps for all four of us.
We headed back to the park this evening and watched the parade, rode the Haunted Mansion (Katie is definitely NOT a fan, by the way), It’s a Small World (I’m afraid that song will never really leave my head), and the Peter Pan ride (passable, but not worth the twenty-minute wait I’m afraid. We almost made it for the Little Mermaid ride but the park was closing for the night.
We’ve got one and possibly two days left at the Magic Kingdom to try and fit everything in. Our wifi at the resort is still down, so for now I leave you with the picture above of Violet enjoying the Small World ride!
